Oana Dolea is currently an associate with the Canadian firm Heenan Blaikie LLP, practicing commercial and intellectual property law with a focus on the technology, new media and entertainment industries. Ms. Dolea has strong substantive knowledge and practical experience in diverse aspects of intellectual property law, especially copyright, as well as in relation to data protection, e-commerce and various information technology projects. She is a licensed practitioner in Canada, where she is a member of the Quebec and Ontario bars, and has obtained approval to join the Barreau de Paris.
Ms. Dolea has been involved with ITechLaw since 2011, previously presenting on mobile e-commerce and privacy at the 2012 ITechLaw Annual Conference & Meeting in Washington D.C. and acting as a moderator of an international panel on recent issues in software copyright at the 2012 ITechLaw European Conference in Rome.
Ms. Dolea has a strong interest in the European market and has previously spent time in Rome as a legal intern, prior to working for the past three and a half years in Montreal and Toronto. She is fluent in English, French, and Romanian, and used her time in Rome to perfect her Italian and indulge her love of Italian culture.
